We’re building the next generation of progressive leaders.

Progressive Pipeline recruits underrepresented students and places them in paid summer fellowships with progressive campaigns and organizations. Then, we offer them the training, mentorship, and connections they need to become tomorrow’s leaders.

Our Summer Fellowship

We’ll train you on the skills you need to succeed in your career, from cutting edge digital organizing tactics to data analysis to communication.

We’ll coach you on how to turn your summer fellowship into a career.

We’ll deploy you to a 10-week summer organizing, data, or communications fellowship and pay you a $4000 - $6000 stipend.

We’ll support you after the summer through training, mentorship, and connections.

We help launch their careers

through coaching and connections

We look for students with the passion, skills, and drive to organize their communities –– students who too often don’t have the resources or connections to launch careers in politics. We use simulations that measure people skills and ability to learn, not past political experience.

We recruit everywhere

We find remarkable students

We place our fellows in paid organizing positions with progressive campaigns. As field organizers, they connect with voters, manage volunteers, deliver trainings, and lead phonebanks, both gaining on-the-ground field experience and helping progressives win.

We train and coach

Before the fellows hit the ground, we offer them interactive organizing training and intensive coaching. Fellows learn how to tell their stories, make big asks, and move others to action so that they’re ready to go on day one.

We deploy

The best organizers can be the hardest to find, so we do what it takes to reach them, from contacting tens of thousands of teachers at every university in America to leading info sessions and organizing workshops on college campuses.

We help launch their careers

After the summer, the fellows join our alumni community, and we stick with them through continued leadership development, career coaching, and connections to our Talent Network –– a community of organizations committed to hiring our fellows once they graduate.

"For those on the fence about applying, I want to ask you “why not?”. If you’ve ever been remotely interested in organizing or campaigning, this could be your first step toward doing work you love, supporting the communities most dear to you, and taking agency by working towards your own liberation. I learned that there was a need for a person like me in electoral organizing."

"After struggling on the job hunt, Progressive Pipeline was a light at the end of the tunnel. Now, I have access to job opportunities and a foot in the door with other organizations. Apply: you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain!"

Who is eligible to apply?

If you’ll be 18 by June 1, 2021 and are interested in launching a career in progressive politics, you should throw your hat in the ring! Students from all class years, majors, and schools (including community colleges) are welcome to apply, as are recent graduates. We don’t have a GPA requirement and we don’t expect or require past political experience.

Will I be paid?

Yes! You’ll receive a $4000 - $6000 stipend for the 10 week fellowship. The fellowship is a full-time commitment.

Will the fellowship be in-person or online?

All of our training will be online, but we’re not sure yet whether it’ll be safe to organize in person next summer. We’ll monitor the status of the pandemic and make a decision with health and safety in mind. We’ve already run two successful online fellowships, so we’re confident that this’ll be an awesome experience either way.

Do I need political experience?

Absolutely not! The Progressive Pipeline fellowship is a starting point for students who are passionate about progressive causes and eager to organize their communities but who might not have conventional political or organizing experience. We’re excited to help you launch your career.

What is the time commitment?

The fellowship will run from the first week of June through early August, after part-time training in April and May. Fellows will participate in the program full-time, potentially including some evenings and weekends.

I just applied. When will I hear back?

You should hear back from us with next steps within a few weeks of applying. We plan on finalizing the cohort at the end of March. In the meantime, we’ll be in touch with news, updates, and additional resources.

When is the application due?

The application deadline is Friday, March 19 at 11pm Eastern, but we'd encourage you to get the ball rolling as soon as possible! If you apply now, you'll likely hear back with next steps before the deadline.

I have more questions! Who can I reach out to?

Feel free to send a note to hello@progressive-pipeline.org and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
